whenever I see other OCs get a lot of attention and praise I get jealous. I work hard on being a good writer and a fun person to play with, and I really with play anything. So I’m sure there must be something wrong with me.

“Slipspace, yeah…there was that whole rigamarol with the Forerunner crystal under Reach right? Ascendant Justice and all…”
He put his hands in his pockets, thinking.
“I would assume, if there’s a way to bring you here there’s a way to send you back. We would just need to find it.”

She felt uncomfortable about how much the man aside her knew. Ana looked to the empty sky again and sighed. “I’m used to ships in the sky. It feels odd to see none. And just the air quality is…” She coughed a little and sat down against the ledge. “So, if you think you know how I got here, then we should find it. It won’t be so hard, I assume…not as hard as trying to get ship data from a Covvie ship.”

“Probably not.” He shook his head. “Its too bad that you don’t have armor…I’ve always wanted to see a fully MJLONIRed up Spartan smashing things.”
He shrugged. “This’ll do.”
He cracked his fingers and shrugged off his jacket.
“No time like the present…tell me, how much do you weigh?”

“Why should my mass matter any?” She closed her eyes and did quick math. “About 250 now. I’ve been training more lately since I lost track for a few months.” She stood up on her heels and looked at him. “If you put me in that old Kevlar stuff I’m going to laugh.”

“Nah. I just wanted to see if I could carry you.”
He unfurled his wings, all 20 feet of them.
“Ah, FUCK that feels better. I hate wearing a jacket over these damn things…course, if anyone sees me they freak the hell out. But I don’t think that’s much of a worry right now considering the whole timeline is probably in danger.”

Ana’s jaw dropped. She recollected herself after a few seconds, walking over and examining his wings. “Are you an angel…? How very…odd…these aren’t prosthetic, are they? Very intriguing…” She wanted to examine them further but checked the act. She probably seemed like an excited child, and she didn’t want to go back to that state.

“Favorite?” She was honestly confused. How did he know so much about her and the others? “What’s your theory, though?” She walked to the edge and peered over the city. No aircraft, save for ones she only remembered in museums. Outdated, unstable, impractical…

“There’s this company around here, called Itex. They’re crazy as hell and they like to mess around with things they shouldn’t. My squad busted into one of their facilities yesterday and found they were doing something with a “time flux manipulator” or some other random shit like that. Maybe that’s what brought you here.”

Ana had read books about time manipulation. And how people had found a way to bend time and space to go back in time. Of course, it had been made illegal reasons. Maybe now was the time when they made time travel illegal…

“I see. Would there be a way for me to return soon? I have people who would actually worry for me if I was suddenly missing for days at a time.” She scratched an old scar on her cheek. “Time travel is possible…we have methods in the 2500’s of which we use to slip through…alternative spaces, I guess you can say.”
